A Note From the Director

I have always been fascinated with romantic comedy films. It is a genre that a lot of people love, but yet, most of the romance movies that have been made come off as unrealistic. The plots are predictable, and the endings are usually cheesy. While movies are fiction, I have always strived to make the emotions my characters feel, as real and as human as possible.

With my film Where are you? I wanted to change the formula up, instead of focusing on a couple, I focus on the fact that there is no couple. When the idea first came to me I realized, very few films have captured how difficult it is to be single, and no film has ever captured what it’s like being single, as a Christian. My goal with this film is to give the audience a realistic look at what it’s really like being a single Christian young adult and all the struggles that come with that.

The loneliness, the isolation, getting dismissed because you’re not married, as well as the constant pressure from family, friends, and even church leaders to get married. I want to first and foremost make an entertaining film that gives a fresh new take on the romantic film genre, but also a film that gives all the singles in the world hope, and to let them know that they aren’t alone, God has a plan for you, and it is not for anyone to decide what that plan is.
